One “system” consists of an outdoor unit (AC or Heat Pump) and an indoor unit (Gas Furnace or Electric Air Handler)

2 + Story or Split Level - Any home that has more than a single level that does not include your basement

Townhome or Condo - A residence that is attached to another dwelling or part of a larger series of dwellings

To find the square footage, you can look up your home at Zillow.com or you can take the width of your home and multiply it times the length of your home. For a 2 story home, you can do the first step and then multiply the answer times 2 to include the second story.

Split System - consist of a unit outside (condensing unit) and a unit inside (Gas Furnace or Electric Furnace)

Package System - A heating and cooling system that consists of one outdoor unit.

Gas Furnace - Indoor unit that heats your home using natural gas or propane - this unit will have either a metal or plastic pipe venting outdoors.

Electric Air Handler - Indoor unit that heats your home using electric. This will typically have a large wire or wires going into the Electric Air Handler.
